Kansas City’s Epicurean ExperienceThe charming atmosphere of Chaz on the Plaza is heightened by contemporary, regional American cuisine evolved from classic French fundamentals and energized by ethnic and geographic influences. Inspired by the region, the menus reflect a culinary passion for the food experience. The innovative fare is a playful mix of styles and cuisines that feature locally sourced produce whenever possible. Beef (including a fabulous Kansas City Strip Steak), pork, lamb, poultry, and seafood specialties are beautifully presented. The restaurant is increasingly drawing the attention of national consumer and trade media.

The interior design of polished granite, natural walnut finishes, and soft colors is energized with bold splashes of red. Tables are topped with black granite and stylish tableware. A transitional style of Queen Anne chair combines sleek, espresso-stained walnut and fire engine red textured upholstery with spring-set craftsmanship to provide comfortable seating. Eyes are drawn to a floor-to-ceiling mural that incorporates a photographic montage of Plaza landmarks and translucent acrylic panels enhanced by graphic images. The aromas are enhanced by the pleasing decor with antique bronzed mirrors and granite surfaces along the bar and windows, which offer intriguing views of the Plaza’s enchanting streetscape. All the while, either programmed or live music performed by local composers and musicians is carried clearly, but gently to the ears via a state-of-the-art sound system.
Chaz LoungeThe Lounge is a vibrant atmosphere for gathering over drinks and appetizers. Wine lovers may explore old and new world wines from Chaz’s Wine Spectator Award-winning list or the Coravin Wine List featuring more exotic and expensive wines. Talented local musicians perform an array of musical genres, including classical, jazz, blues, and pop, nightly and during Weekend Jazz Brunch (click for entertainment calendar). Happy Hour is Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 pm, featuring drink specials and half-price appetizers. Holiday Specialties: Chaz always features a special concoction or two for holiday imbibing. Back by popular demand is the BellRinger and new to the mix is a selection of hot toddies and our frosty new favorite, Winter Blues Elixir.
Chaz BarThe Bar is where you may sip an outstanding Kentucky bourbon like Old Rip Van Winkle or savor fine single malt Scotch whiskeys plus excellent spirits and beers from the world over, including from our hometown distilleries and breweries. Chaz mixologists showcase their talents with classic cocktails and specialty drinks. A favorite is the Hazy Hayden, inspired by KC’s international renown for barbecue and smoked meats. The well-balanced cocktail blends Basil Hayden Bourbon, sassafras liquor and house made cinnamon simple sugar in a smoke infused glass. It creates a dramatic presentation and gives the drink a natural smoky flavor.
