ThIs is a dynamic duo of veteran jazz, and r&b musicians. Jaisson Taylor is regarded as one of the top jazz, blues, and R&B drummers/vocalists in the KC Metro area. His experience spans other genres, including African, South American and modern American percussion methods and styles. His rich and smooth vocals has made him sought after for recording and voice overs in KC and has earned him a high reputation as a recording artist. Vocalist/guitarist Ric Barron’s wide range and octave abilities gives him the ability to accurately sing in different genres from country and American folk to jazz, blues, funk and rock. Ric has established himself as a one of the best overall guitarists in the region. He earned first place at the Estes Park International Duet Singing Competition, and in 2012 was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame.

Chaz draws a loyal flock of regulars Sunday nights to hear a diverse repertoire performed by the Mengel Brothers. Dana and Les Mengel are among the top classical musicians in the Kansas City area. Both studied at the UMKC Conservatory of Music and appear as members of many local Community Orchestras. Dana, violinist, is a noted composer whose works have been performed across the country and are included in their play list. Les, cellist/bassist, has performed with the Kansas City Symphony, taught at William Jewell College and reached semi-finals in the Concours International Chamber Music Competition in Paris. Guests appreciate their fresh stylings on classical compositions as well as riffs on jazz, pop and rock from artists such as the Beatles and Doors.

A native of Paraguay, Ruben has been surrounded by music his entire life. He has been fascinated with the piano since age 4 and presented his first piano recital at age 6. He came to the U.S. in 1989 to study English, and while here was awarded a scholarship in piano performance from the University of Kansas. He is a gifted pianist and composer who has performed before diverse audiences and recorded four CDs. He performs pop, show tunes, movie soundtracks and jazz standards at Chaz

Duck and Joe are both veteran Kansas City jazz musicians. Their sound highlights the traditional Kansas City jazz sound – but they also reach out of the genre to cover contemporary and classic R & B and pop tunes. Duck’s rich baritone voice earned him Kansas City’s best male vocalist title three years in a row. Joe is a classically trained pianist more well-known for his versatility as a jazz performer. Kathleen is a gifted musician who plays multiple instruments well, but none more impressively than her voice. Kathleen holds an M.A. in music from the UMKC Conservatory of Music and is a teacher, composer, performer and recording artists whose most recent release is “Don’t You Wonder?” At Chaz, she is a jazz singer known for great precision with her intonation and power. Raised in Rochester, New York and educated at the University of Miami, Roger’s music career as piano performer, recording artist and educator has led him from Miami to New York to Kansas City. He performs jazz piano solo as well as in ensembles and is a go-to pianist and keyboardist for a diverse variety of local bands. Together, this jazz duo is Wow!

Experience a unique acoustic ensemble specializing in French Gypsy Jazz. Violinist Marvin Gruenbaum is a 35-year veteran of the KC Jazz scene and a viola player with the Kansas City Symphony. Bruce Graybill is a celebrated Jazz mandolinist/composer who is a two-time champion of the prestigious mandolin contest at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas. Charles Gatshet is a well-known local guitarist and composer who has performed with the likes of Step-Buddy Anderson and Claude “Fiddler” Williams. One of Kansas City's hardest working musicians, Dave Stephens was nominated for "Musician of the Year" and "Jazz Artist of the Year" at the Kansas City/Lawrence area music awards show. Dave Stephen's band is comprised of some of the area's most talented jazz musicians. The Dave Stephens Band's vast musical repertoire is primarily composed of their unique interpretations of the American Standards, although Dave Stephen's original music has been compared by the media to the likes of Cole Porter and the Gershwins.

A 30 year veteran of the KC music scene, Steve plays with some of the cities top performers and has toured with chart topping heavyweights such as Percy Sledge, Sam & Dave, Tracy Bird, and was a core member of local KC band, The Classmen. Vocalist Shannon Lipps has worked in KC for over 10 years performing in various local rock, blues, jazz and country bands. She stays on the creative edge writing lyrics and co-composing for original works with The Ambient Stem (a branch of The UK’s Ambient Society). This versatile duo combines classic jazz and blues standards with more contemporary R&B and light rock covers.
