And with an abundance of holiday events, we've narrowed it down to our top 4 favorite Fourth of July celebrations in the city: 4) Red, White & Zoo at the Kansas City Zoo Saturday, June 30 – Sunday, July 1 Kicking off the city's Fourth of Celebrations and coming in at number four on our list is Red, White & Zoo. The Kansas City Zoo is celebrating Independence Day by offering FREE admission to active and retired military individuals on Saturday, June 30, Sunday, July 1, and Wednesday, July 4. Families of active and retired military individuals will receive $1 off regular Kansas City Zoo admission. 3) Red, White and Bluegrass at Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts Sunday, July 1, 7 p.m. Hitting our Independence Day list at number three is a special concert and celebration of country music at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts with Red, White and Bluegrass. Grammy-award winning artist and country music icon, Lee “God Bless the USA” Greenwood, joins forces with Dailey & Vincent, one of the most exciting bluegrass bands in America, for what's sure to be an unforgettable celebration. 2) Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular at Corporate Woods July 4, 5 p.m. Coming in at number two on our Independence Day list is the City of Overland Park's annual Fourth of July celebration! With live musical performances, food trucks, kids activities, and a 25-minute fireworks show, Overland Park's Star Spangled Spectacular is well worth the drive! 1) KC Riverfest 2018 at Berkley Riverfront Park July 4, 4 p.m. Drum roll please….topping our list of the city's best Fourth of July celebrations is KC Riverfest! With a spectacular fireworks show along the Missouri River, two stages of live music, family-friendly entertainment, an abundance of food vendors, and refreshing beverages, KC RiverFest is the ultimate Independence Day celebration.
