Kansas City will be center stage for indie filmmakers and midwestern film enthusiasts in April as KC FilmFest  2018 raises the curtain and shines the spotlight on independent filmmakers. Film buffs can revel in five days (April 11 – 15) of viewing independent films from around the country and the world. More than 120 narrative and documentary shorts and features covering a wide breadth of genres will be presented on five screens at Cinemark Palace on the Country Club Plaza. All access VIP passes are available for purchase online. Selected filmmakers compete for three audience awards and nine juried awards by film professionals from across the U.S. The filmmakers Kansas City experience is enhanced by a hosted tour of the American Jazz Museum, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and barbecue lunch. In addition, the invited filmmakers will be joined by other well-known and budding young filmmakers, independent film producers, writers and industry professionals gathered from throughout the country to mingle, network and exchange ideas at filmmaker panels, seminars, opening receptions and nightly after-parties. The Raphael, as hotel sponsor, will help roll out the red carpet for visiting filmmakers, judges and fans. The historic boutique hotel's location in the heart of the Country Club Plaza puts guests near all KC FilmFest activities plus all the shopping, dining and entertainments amenities the Plaza has to offer.
