Founded by Jerry and Flora Komes in 1978, Flora Springs was begun on Napa Valley land which had been first planted in the late 1800s and features one of the country's few functioning “Ghost Wineries”, wineries built before 1900 which were abandoned during Prohibition and the Great Depression. The Komes family has built Flora Springs into one of Napa Valley's most awarded producers, having earned a spot on Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of the Year six times in one decade and being awarded “First Growth Classification” for its Chardonnays in Wine Spectator's California's Great Chardonnays.
